Las Vegas glazing works two ways. Residential is hillside and high-rise: The Ridges, MacDonald Highlands and tower units glazed toward the Strip and the valley, with neighbors far closer than the view. Hospitality is guest-facing glass: suites, bath pods, private dining and back-of-house rooms that need to change state instantly.
Switchable glass suits both because there is no hardware in the opening to maintain or replace, which matters where the same room is turned over hundreds of times a year. In the desert we plan it as a privacy product, coordinated with the solar-control glazing rather than substituting for it.
Open offices are built on glass: it carries daylight deep into the floor plate and keeps teams visible to each other. The tradeoff shows up the moment a meeting turns sensitive: a board discussion, an HR conversation, a client negotiation. Blinds and frosted vinyl solve the privacy problem by giving up everything the glass was chosen for.
Switchable smart glass keeps both. The PDLC layer scatters light on demand, so the room reads as ordinary clear glazing until someone flips it private: from a wall switch, a remote, an app, or the building control system. Multi-zone control lets each room, or each wall, switch independently.

It is a common hospitality application precisely because there is no mechanism in the opening: no cords, tracks or fabric to replace between stays. Control can be limited to a wall switch or integrated into the room automation.
In most cases, yes. Retrofit switchable film is applied to existing interior glass partitions, so the room you already have becomes switchable without replacing the glazing.
New partitions are usually specified as laminated smart glass, with the switchable layer sealed inside the panel. Existing partitions are usually retrofitted with film. We help you confirm the right format for your project.
A wall switch by the door is the most common setup. The glass can also be controlled by remote, app, or the building automation system, and multi-zone control lets each room or wall switch independently.
