In most cases the review is about the exterior appearance. Switchable film and laminated panels are interior-side and read as ordinary clear glazing when clear, so there is typically no exterior change to approve. We will supply product information for your submittal.
In most cases, yes. Retrofit switchable film is applied to existing interior glass partitions, so the room you already have becomes switchable without replacing the glazing.
New partitions are usually specified as laminated smart glass, with the switchable layer sealed inside the panel. Existing partitions are usually retrofitted with film. We help you confirm the right format for your project.
A wall switch by the door is the most common setup. The glass can also be controlled by remote, app, or the building automation system, and multi-zone control lets each room or wall switch independently.
